This is more of a response to your new post Dana.
It's tragic to look at the state of the world right now. Wars and genocides everywhere, the common mentality being if you don't benefit, it's not worth doing. Stereotypes and discrimination spreading like wildfire.
The truth of the matter is that it's the fault of the US. Their pop-culture encourages stupidity and racism, violence and sex. That's why common courtesy is dead. Simply put, people are sheep. They will do the "in" thing, just to have people like them. So when the "in thing" becomes insensetivity and hidden intelligence, what becomes of the people who don't want to leave the old ways behind? They die out
People ask where have all the gentlemen gone. Degeneration. Simple as that. When you're shunned by your peers for being nice, or smart, then you have two options; do the right thing and be nice, or become the shallow bastard that people want you to be.
And to be honest, it's just not worth being nice. The lure of acceptance is too much. And besides. It's a weapon. It's like a drug. The more you try, the more you buy. And once you start to use the trust built up over years of niceness and good behaviour, you abuse it. It's futile to hold on to the old ways. To face facts, it's just not worth being the nice guy. Which is why I've made the jump to degenerate prick.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still nice to some people, but when someone cuts you with a knife, and everyone else starts rubbing salt in the wound it leaves behind, you start to get tired of it. And so, rather than letting the anger and the hatred build up, I take it out on people. So in other words, I've decided to stop taking people's shit. Piss me off, really push me, and you won't like what happens next.
I'm sorry that I'm weak. I'm sorry that you've decided that I can't take the fucking taunts anymore. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm sorry I can't take the strain anymore of just sitting there and taking the abuse. And before you go thinking I'm just off on another one of my melodramatic rants, you don't see the way people act around me. The one way conversations. The cynical veiw as soon as they see my mouth open. If I get treated like a sack of shit, then I don't think the people doing it deserve anything better. Niiiiiight.

Alright, I agree that yes, there is a lot of shit in the world now, but ... look at mahtab. imagine what she gos through every single day and she's STILL being nice. even though she cries a lot and suffers for it she's still PURE GOLD, and that, is called an increadibly strong person. but i understand where ur goin' all through grades five to seven was name calling and the like, i got used to it, but i also started being mean and slightly violet\nt myself. and that's not right. being different is a GOOD thing, and screw going with the in thing. when ur a dsrugged up, jobless, hobo, then who's gonna be talking about the in thing?
ReplyDeletethe thing is, you get mean, but to the people who deserve it, only be an asshole to people who deserve it and they will suffer more when they seee that you are mean to them and nice to others. and then they'll try and set people against you, saying that you're a bastard oin the inside, but people to whom e you've been nice to will stay by your side. It's like earning trust, and you know, the bad things that you do in life always turn around and bite you in the ass. I agree with your opinion too though, its also right, both of ours are.
Thanks for agreeing, mom. And I try, beleive me. In grade 4 I had all of one friend, and since then about 7/8 of the friends I've had have stabbed me in the back, hence the slightly gaurded personality. But trust me, I by no means conform.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I do admire Mahtab, and how strong she is. But she does sorta have an outlet by bugging people.
Ahh well, she doesn't do it on purpouse, she is just naturally increadibly social, and yes, its amazing that i like being friends with her, little antisocial me. Now jason dear, head down for dinner, after which you really need to clean up that room of yours, its getting awfully messy. Oh godness knows you've been staying in there way too much, I'm sure its just a phase though ... (you cannot dicsrent what I, your mom, am saying anymore because now I'm worridly mumbling about your lack of a social life ;])
ReplyDeletePS: Jason, you sure leave awfully long comments on my blogs, you should turn them into to recponce posts.
ReplyDeleteSay's Ms. loner herself. And look at the first comment on this post. You know what's really funny? Mahtab has tried to convert Ali and I to her religion. It's almost tragic. But sadly, Ali crushed her spirit.
ReplyDeleteouch, don't be so hard on her. Her parents raised her up to be increadibly sheltered, mentally, she is a child, her view on the world is simple and happy. She doesn't believe in her friends9other than you guys) being mean to her, even when countless times I have chastesised her for being so naive to kaitlin and gift and whats her name the other girl. Most of the time, I find that trying to talk sense into her is like banging your head against the wall. Her and Lauren. Lauren refuses to have a life and Mahtab is convinced that every time she does something that you or I would find normal she is a bad girl. ITS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL! Though I still love her as a friend because people like her are rare.
ReplyDeleteI share your veiw. What I mean tby tragic is that it's rather amazing that she would even go there. It's tragic because open discussion about religion whit someone of a different faith (especially conversion) means that she's beginning to get un-innocent (I know the word is guilty, but it just doesn't fit here) I've also tried to tell her that Caitlin Gift and Saghi are mean to her, but like you said, she wouldn't listen. But I see where you're coming from, and I'll try to be a bit nicer.
